June 19, 2019 was the first ever coalition California Youth Gun Violence Prevention Lobby Day at the Sacramento Capitol. Team Enough and March for our Lives worked to bring as many youth to the capitol as possible. The goal of the effort was to one, make our presence to legislators abundantly clear and two, lobby them to pass some of the bills we have been working on for the past several months. This day served as a hands-on educational experience for those youth activists who have never lobbied before and to see that they can connect with their legislators on issues they care about. It strengthened our relationships with partner organizations and initiate the beginning of a yearly occurrence of a youth CA Gun Violence Prevention lobbying day.

RESULT: More than 50 participants from across the state joined the effort. All three bills we were there to support (AB 51, SB 51, and AB 1603) have also passed their final chamber. Thank you for sharing your voice with our elected officials on this generation-defining issue.
